Live grenade found in mine shaft

Geologists uncovered a live grenade while exploring old mine shafts in NSW.

The workers were looking at old mine shafts at Tilbuster, north of Armidale when they made the find, NineMSN reports.

Police were quick to the scene and confirmed that grenade was live, but did not pose a risk.

Army personnel disposed of the old grenade yesterday.
