Liebherr has announced plans to manufacture a crawler tractor in the 70 tonne range.
The company will launch its PR 776 Litronic crawler tractor, designed specifically for mining and quarry applications, at the upcoming Bauma exhibition next year.
It marks an entry into a new weight class for Liebherr.
This new model extends Liebherr’s range of crawler tractors, expanding the range to include seven models running in size from 17 to now 70 tonnes.
“Some new developments are being introduced with the entry to the new size class,” Liebherr said, adding that the machine “also integrates special features of the Generation 6 crawler tractor programme, which have already been tried and tested in the field.”
“These include, for example, proactive power control, the maintenance concept or the modern driver's cab.”
The machines will all be manufactured in-house.
