Liebherr has released the SX boom system for greater stability and to deliver higher load capacity.
The system differs from previous boom systems as it uses 3.5m wide lattice sections rather than 3m in the bottom area of the boom. The extended lattice sections increase the lateral stability of the boom, which in turn delivers a higher load capacity.
The weight of lattice sections has also been reduced, allowing the boom length to be raised up to 165m – comprising the main boom and the fixed lattice jib
Lifting capacity is also increased through an innovative extension to the SX system. Rather than 3.5m wide lattice sections, two 14m long lattice sections (SX2 system) or three 14m long lattice sections (SX3 system) with a 6m width are installed in the lowest area of the main boom.
This provides additional rigidity to the boom system and increases its load capacity.
