Komatsu has won an order to supply 55 trucks to Adani’s Carmichael coal mine.
The order consists of 960E-2 and 930E-4SE super large dump trucks.
The trucks will be delivered in the second half of next year.
The two companies have declined to outline the value of the deal.
This is the second major contract awarded for the Carmichael mine this year, after Downer won a $2 billion contract for works at the Adani operation.
The Carmichael project holds more than 11 billion tonnes of thermal coaland Adani Mining chief executive Jeyakumar Janakaraj said it will create thousands of jobs at the site and down the supply chain and hand $22 billion to the state government in taxes and royalties.
The mine, which was approved in July last year, will produce 60 million tonnes a year for 60 years.
