Joy Global has officially been relaunched as Komatsu Mining Corp.
Executive leadership, elected officials and hundreds of Milwaukee-area employees recognised the unveiling of Komatsu Mining earlier this week.
The renaming follows Komatsu America’s $US3.7 billion takeover of Milwaukee-based Joy Global in April. The ceremony to recognise the acquisition kicks off the integration process to align the organisation and operation for optimal customer support, according to Komatsu.
“Uniting our global teams brings endless opportunities for our customers, employees and the industry,” Komatsu Mining president and chief executive Jeffrey Dawes said during the ceremony.
“…We couldn’t be more pleased to commit to keeping the headquarters of Komatsu Mining right here in Milwaukee. This has been a great home to us through the years, and it will continue to be, as we move forward together as part of the Komatsu organisation.”
As a company, Komatsu Mining plans to continue to promote and invest in the P&H, Joy and Montabert product brands.
Komatsu remains committed to directly servicing the global mining industry and through its products, services and technologies is focused on helping customers improve productivity and safety in their operations worldwide, it added.
