Komatsu appoints new MD

Komatsu Australia has appointed Sean Taylor as its new managing director.

According to the company, he replaced Komatsu’s outgoing head Bill Pike who resigned to ‘pursue other challenges.”

This new appointment comes ahead of the equipment manufacturer’s launch of the Komatsu HB205 Hybrid Excavator, the first production hybrid excavator in the world.

Last year Komatsu launched the world’s first hybrid forklift. Komatsu is also the Australian market leader in the electric mining dump truck market.

Taylor has been the company’s general manager of the construction and utility division for the last seven years.
