Kingsgate CEO Gavin Thomas has stepped down from the miner following a health issues.
It comes after nearly a decade as head of the company.
Late last year Australian Mining reported that Thomas collapsed onstage during his presentation to the Sydney Mining Club.
Thomas was nearing the end of his presentation on the company, after discussing the miner's Challenger operations, took a glass of water and then fell down on the stage in front of the 300 odd people in attendance.
Ambulance services quickly attended the scene.
The miner has now implemented a succession process for its new CEO.
Thomas will remain on the board as an executive director to assist the transition to the new leadership, Kingsgate said in a company statement.
Kingsgate chairman Ross Smyth-Kirk congratulated Thomas on his contribution to the company and the wider mining industry.
“Gavin’s legacy to the mining industry goes well beyond his time at Kingsgate, with more than 40 years’ operating throughout the world,” he said.
