Hillgrove Resources have announced that its Kanmantoo Copper mine project is complete and commissioning has begun.
The miner says ore crushing, wet testing and general commissioning activities are already well advanced, with the rotation of the ball mill and full end to end wet testing of the plant imminent.
Hillgrove stated that it has stuck to its original timetable of one year for construction and first production, with first concentrate expected some time this month.
However capital costs for the construction will be about 10% higher than forecast.
Working capital for the mine’s ramp up are also expected to rise by around $10 million.
The miner says there is around 250 000 tonnes of higher grade ore on the ROM pad ready for crushing and mill feed, following commissioning on lower grade ores.
The mining rate has also been ramped up to meet expected mill throughput rates once the mine is running.
