The mining industry and local Kalgoorlie community have joined forces to hold the annual Saint Barbara’s Festival from 3rd to 5th December 2015.
The festival recognises the ongoing socio-economic contributions the mining sector makes for the local community of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and celebrates life in Australia’s largest regional outback city.
Newly elected Chairman, Jim Coxon, is enthusiastic for the festivities, and believes they will help solidify industry-community partnerships.
“The Festival is such an important part of our community and an event that all mining companies and those associated with the industry should be involved with,” he said.
Events include the Miners Memorial, Kalgoorlie-Boulder Museum WA Open Day and parade.
This year’s Saint Barbara’s parade is expected to have major changes, featuring equipment from primary partners Trans Alta Energy, Norton Gold Fields, Northern Star Resources and Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines.
Mayor, John Bowler named this year’s festivities as the 2015 KCGM Saint Barbara’s Festival.
