JSW win Mineral Resource drill and blast contract

Hughes Drilling subsidiary JSW Australia has won a drill and blast contract for Mineral Resources Carina iron ore mine.

The two year contract, valued at $17 million, began last month.

The contract also has an option for a minimum of two 12 month extensions of the work.

Two REICHdrill C-700-D bench drills and one small production drill are already on site.

Speaking on the win Hughes managing director Bob Hughes said "it is very pleasing to commence working with such a progressive and growing iron ore producer and we look forward to a long term relationship with Mineral Resources".

He added that "Carina is an excellent opportunity to showcase the performance of Hughes Drilling's subsidiary company's REICHdrill rig products to the WA iron ore industry".

The company already operates 35 REICHdrill rigs in coal on the east coast and two rigs in iron ore in WA.
