Jobs to go at Boggabri as contract comes to an end

Around 75 positions will go at Idemitsu's Boggabri coal mine as an interim haulage project wraps up.

The positions, from contractor LCR Group, will go as the operation completes its rail line, according to The Courier.

LCR provided trucking services, using B-Doubles to transport coal to a nearby rail loadout facility via a private 17km road, after which the coal is hauled the Port of Newcastle via train for export.

The Boggabri mine is a thermal and soft coking coal operation.
