Industrea wins coal contract

Industrea has won a contract to supply a Chinese coal mine with four roof support carries.

The contract with Inner Mongolia Yitai Coal Company, worth just over $7 million, will see Industrea supply four 55 tonne longwall roof supports.

The roof supports will be used at the Erdos coal mine in Inner Mongolia.

These machines will be built at Industrea’s Thornton facility in New South Wales.

Industrea CEO Robin Levison said the contract is a repeat order by Yitai for the C9 powered low emission machines.

This new order will bring its total fleet of Industrea roof support carriers to 16 units.

Levison went on to add Industrea is "also building our service capability in our Shijiazhuang facility to accommodate an expected associated increase in orders for service and refurbishment from our large installed base of Industrea equipment in China, which is now close to 150 machines.

"Given the high utilisation rates of equipment in China, the service and refurbishment cycle is much shorter in China than Australia," he added.
