Industrea win Lady Annie contract

Industrea’s mining services division has won a contract extension at the Lady Annie copper mine.

The contractor announced it won a 12 month extension to its heavy equipment hire and maintenance work at the Lady Annie mine, valued at approximately $14.4 million.

It has also won two new contracts for work at BHP’s Cannington mine’s tailings dam and Xstrata’s Ernest Henry’s tailings evaporation dam, worth around $7 million in revenue.

Industrea has also begun initial remedial and mining works at Cockatoo’s Baralaba coal mine.

Cockatoo’s coal was hit hard by the floods which ravaged Queensland, and has only now begun to get back on track.

Industrea managing director Robin Levison said they “are seeing clear, positive sign of increasing demand for our fleet of heavy mining equipment from Australia’s resurgent mining sector as new projects continue to ramp up”.

This tightening of the heavy mining equipment sector has seen increased lead times for the delivery of vehicles and the price of mining truck tyres shoot up, to the point where they are now more expensive than a luxury car.
