Hunter miner dies

A 59-year-old Singleton man has been killed in an industrial accident at a mine in New South Wales' upper Hunter Valley.

A 59-year-old Singleton man has been killed in an industrial accident at a mine in New South Wales’ upper Hunter Valley.

The man was driving a truck and trailer when the accident happened just before 2:30am on 18 February at Ravensworth, near Singleton.

Police say the truck was driven into a coal loader, where a large amount of coal was dumped on the cab of the truck and the man was crushed and died at the scene.

Police and Department of Primary Industries officials are investigation the incident, and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
