Huawei sets sights on oil and gas

Huawei continues to expand into the oil and gas sector, exhibiting industry solutions with partners such as Honeywell at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2016.

These solutions included intelligent tanker management, oil and gas pipeline intrusion detection, and digital production management systems.

Yuan Qian, president of the marketing and solution sales department at Huawei called the Middle East “the most important area for the global energy market”, according to Industrial IOT.

“In line with the digital transformation trend, Huawei has developed a series of smart energy solutions to meet the unique and specific needs of customers in the energy industry through joint innovations with leading partners such as Honeywell, ABB, Halliburton and SAP,” the executive added.

Yuan Qian went on to say that Huawei provided services to 14 of the world’s top 20 oil and gas companies and has worked on more than 38,000 kilometres of pipelines for oil and gas companies worldwide.

The company partnered with Honeywell to deliver the natural gas pipeline project in Uzbekistan for the Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company – a part of Central Asia’s energy pipeline that delivers natural gas to China.
