Straits Resources Limited has officially opened a new operation in New South Wales.

The official opening of the antimony, gold and tungsten mine was the culmination of more than four years of work since the project was acquired by the company in April 2004.

The company’s CEO Milan Jerkovic said he was confident that Hillgrove mine would deliver long term benefits to shareholders and the local community as the mine was a significant producer of high value metals such as antimony and tungsten.

The company’s Hillgrove Gold is now a significant, long term employer in the Armidale region, with the

workforce growing over the four years from an initial 9 personnel to the current complement of 130 full time employees.

The company has invested a total of $120 million to the project, delivering a positive direct and indirect benefit to the local economy.
