Heron Resources has received its environmental protection licence from the New South Wales environmental protection authority (EPA) for proposed construction, mining and processing activities at the Woodlawn zinc-copper project.
It is the final licensing requirement prior to the start of construction activities at Woodlawn and a key prerequisite to advancing financing for the project, according to Heron.
The licence covers permitted activities; management of site activities and their impact on the environment; the setting of limits for water, noise, blasting, hours of operation and odour; monitoring and recording requirements; and reporting obligations to the EPA.
“Attainment of the EPL is another positive step in the pre-construction activities to the Woodlawn project,” Heron outlined in an ASX announcement.
The Woodlawn project is 30km south of Goulburn and 220km southwest of Sydney. It includes the Woodlawn underground project and Woodlawn tailings retreatment project.
