BHP has recommenced shipping at its Hay Point coal terminal following its closure last month.
The terminal, which had been closed since 11 March and was damaged by Cyclone Ului, has begun testing conveyor belts and ship loading equipment at Berth 2.
It will begin equipment testing at Berth 1 tomorrow, and will bring a vessel alongside the berth.
BHP previously stated on 24 March that the port could take up to six weeks to be fully operational again after the damage caused by Cyclone Ului.
The opening of the port is following record high queues for coal loading vessels across Australia, which saw over 200 ships waiting to be loaded.
