Han connectors for explosive atmospheres meet US standards

Han connectors provide for a reliable and pluggable transmission of power, signal and data, meeting the highest requirements. In addition to its rectangular heavy-duty standard design, the Han® series offers modular, compact and lightweight connectors that deliver a wide range of solutions for the mining, energy, machinery and automation sectors.

With the Han-Modular connectors, you can optimally design connectors to supply machinery and equipment. This is made possible by combining individual modules for different transmission media. The connector handles different signal types through the combination of different modules that the designer selects. Modules can also be used to accommodate multimedia types, such as power, signal, and data can be combined into a single connector rather than separate connections.

From this spring, connectors will now be available in all sizes in the Han Ex series for explosive atmospheres — meeting US standard NEC 500. These housings are permitted for use in Class I, Division II hazardous locations. This product range for the North American market includes inserts and housings from sizes 3A to 24B. Like all Han Ex connectors, they ensure protection class IP65 when plugged in. Their blue colour is for easy identification of inherently safe circuits.
