Groves to steer Resolution Minerals

Resolution Minerals has named Steven Groves as its new managing director.

The mineral exploration company is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of precious and battery metals, such as gold, copper, cobalt, and uranium.

Resolution recently entered into a significant, multi-year farm-in and joint venture agreement with copper focussed mid-tier mining company, OZ Minerals, in the Northern Territory.

The deal allows the companies to fast-track the search for copper discoveries on the Benmara Project, located in the South Nicholson Basin.

Groves has a Bachelor of Applied Geology (Honours) and a Master’s of Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania and is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and the Society of Economic Geologists.

He brings more than 27 years’ of geological and corporate experience in the mining industry and has led teams in both Australia and Africa exploring a wide range of commodities from discovery through to development.

Most recently he was one of the founding directors of Sultan Resources and led the company as managing director since its successful listing in 2018.

He has also held the role of technical director of Si6 Metals and occupied a variety of exploration and management roles with companies such as BHP Billiton, Newmont Mining and A-Cap Resources.

“I am thrilled to be joining Resolution at a time when the company is poised for significant growth,” he said.

“Resolution has a wonderful portfolio of quality explorations assets across both the battery metals and gold sectors and has generated multiple high-potential drill targets that are due to be tested in the coming months.

“The fact that OZ Minerals has committed to spending up to $9 million over the next five years to earn-in to the Wollogorang and Benmara battery metals projects in the Northern Territory is testament to the quality of these targets.”
