GR Engineering win APLNG maintenance contract

GR Engineering’s Upstream Production Solutions (Upstream PS) has signed an agreement with Origin Energy to provide wellsite, gas production, and water treatment facility maintenance to support Australia Pacific LNG’s (APLNG) operations in Queensland’s Surat Basin.

The contract involves an initial two-year term, with an optional third year.

Upstream PS will be required to complete both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and services for a minimum of 1500 wells, nine water gathering systems, seven gas processing facilities, two water treatment facilities, and one pre-treatment facility.

The revenue generated from the contract is estimated at $50million if the third year option is used.

Upstream PS managing director Joe Corvetti said they were proud to play a role in the project due to their company’s strong performance track records since beginning maintenance activities with APLNG in August 2014.

The APLNG exported its first shipment of gas in January, after experiencing delays from shipments scheduled for late 2015. The plant expects to export nine million tonnes of gas each year.
