AUTOMATED Positioning Systems (APS) has launched GPS-based guidance systems for dozers and other equipment working on stockpiles.

The system warns the operator whenever a machine approaches or crosses into danger zones.

These zones include cones of instability above reclaim points, support columns for conveyers and other structures, retaining walls and stockpile bases.

The system also warns operators of proximity to hazards such as moving stacker/reclaimers, or other mobile equipment.

The system can be linked directly to PLC’s and other controlling devices.

The system can be enabled to send an emergency distress signal if a machine experiences an adverse situation such as becoming inclined at a steep angle, or if the cab temperature exceeds a certain value.
