Golden jobs

Up to 50 new jobs could be created if Dominion Mining's expansion in South Australia goes ahead, Dominion operations manager Peter Bamford told the ABC.

Up to 50 new jobs could be created if Dominion Mining’s expansion in South Australia goes ahead, Dominion operations manager Peter Bamford told the ABC.

A feasibility study to expand the Challenger gold mine in SA’s north-west is to be completed in March.

Gold prices have recently been nearing record highs, with prices approaching $1500.

According to Bamford, if prices maintain their current level, jobs for misplaced workers may become available.

“We haven’t laid a single person off, we’ve no need to,” he said.

“The situation has changed in a very, very short time.”
