Gascoyne a month from first gold

Gascoyne Resources is preparing to deliver first gold at the Dalgaranga project in Western Australia next month.

The development is around one month ahead of schedule and currently under budget, the company announced today. Construction of the process plant is 98 per cent complete.

Gascoyne reported that mining has started at the Golden Wings, Sly Fox and Gilbey Pits. Ore is being stockpiled on the run-of-mine (ROM) pad in preparation for processing next month.

Additionally, construction of Dalgaranga’s power station and fuel-storage facility is progressing, with commissioning of the gas-fired generators, and the gas storage and vaporisation facility under way.

“Construction of the project has progressed ahead of schedule, which will see initial ore commissioning in early May and first gold production in mid-May 2018,” Gascoyne explained in an ASX announcement.

Dalgaranga contains a measured, indicated and inferred resources of 31.1Mt at 1.3g/t for 1.32Moz of contained gold.
