Frozen creature unearthed in Siberian mine

Miners have uncovered the remains of a strange creature in the diamond sands at the Udachny mine in Siberia.

Dubbed the ‘monster mummy’, the miners believe it is an unknown type of dinosaur.

However, others believes it is a wolverine or a type of weasel mustelid , with experts seeking to examine it further, The Siberian Times reports.

The creature will be transported from the Udachny mine, which means ‘lucky’, around 1686km southeast to the regional capital of Yakutsk.

Udachny is known for the Udachnaya diamond deposit, which was discovered in 1955 and has been in operation since the 1960s. The site is also considered one of the deepest open-cut mines in the world.
