Four miners killed at Grasberg mine

Four workers have been killed in a vehicle incident at the Grasberg mine.

The incident comes just a fortnight after another fatal accident at the mine in which a worker was killed in a rockfall underground.

An LV carrying nine passengers collided with a haulpack at Grasberg, in the open pit, killing four of the light vehicle’s occupants, according to AAP.

Open cut mining activities have been suspended in the wake of the incident.
