Forge wins Rio Tinto power contract

Forge has won a $280 million contract to deliver power for Rio Tinto in the Pilbara.

It has won an engineering, procurement and construction contract to deliver a combined cycle gas turbine power station at Cape Lambert.

According to Forge managing director David Simpson, this contract is the second major project it has won with Rio.

"In November 2001 [Forge] was awarded the $150 million EPC contract for the open cycle gas turbine power station project in the East Pilbara.

Engineering site access is scheduled for October, with the project set for completion in 2015.
