FMG’s reply to Yindjibarndi video

Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) has released its own perspective of the discussions it had with the Yindjibarndi people in Western Australia that has attracted wide spread media attention.

Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest’s group have released a video in reply to the video posted by the Yindjibandi Aboriginal Corporation on its website which accuses FMG of lies, deception and unfair treatment towards them.

The FMG video details the offer made to the Indigenous community and shows includes interviews with local Aboriginal people discussing the situation, who say Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation chief executive Michael Woodley is not properly representing the community.

The Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation’s website reads: “The original posting of “FMG’s Great Native Title Swindle” has been censored from Vimeo due to legal threats from FMG. It received 12,900 views in 9 days.”
