Fleetwood wins Gladstone camp contract

Fleetwood has won a contract from Gladstone Council to build a 1000 person accommodation village in the region.

The council yesterday accepted a tender for a 10 year lease of 23 hectares of land for the camp.

The camp is designed to support the forecast boom in LNG, during which Gladstone will act as a major processing and export hub.

According to Fleetwood more than $50 billion is already being spent on LNG, coal, and aluminium projects in the region.

The units themselves will be built and installed by BRB Modular, which was acquired by Fleetwood in August 2010.

Construction of the village is scheduled for the first quarter of 2013.
