Fatigue Risk Management

The New South Wales Mine Safety Advisory Council has released a fatigue risk management chart.

The chart lists the contributing factors that can result in fatigue on the job such as night work, shift work and long commute times.

The release of this chart follows the call for sweeping changes on how the mining industry deals with fatigue, in particular stating that the guidelines should take commuting time into mine fatigue management.

This chart also explains the risks surrounding fatigue and provides a detailed outline of the
ways in which these can be managed and controlled.
