Excelsior Gold’s mining proposal approved

Excelsior Gold’s Bardoc South mining proposal has been approved by the WA DMP.

This greenlight clears the way for the development of the Bardoc South and Bulletin South pit, and also includes the construction of a haul road linking its deposits to Norton Gold Fields’ Paddington Mill.

According to the miner, it also allows for the commencement of mining of the Jackorite, Castlereagh, and Big Blow South open pits.

The miner has indicated resources of 445,000 tonnes at a grade of 2.67 g/t for 38,200 ounces of gold, and probable reserves of 205,000 tonnes at 2.75 grams per tonne for 18,100 ounces of gold.

An additional mining proposal covering Excelsior’s development of the Zoroastrian open put was lodged in late May, with approvals expected in September.
