Excavator driver attacked by hornets

A man has been attacked by hornets after he rolled his excavator onto a nest in Western Australia’s Herron.

The RAC rescue helicopter was called to rescue the man who was trapped near the nest located about 30km south of Mandurah.

A St John Ambulance spokesman told the West Australian it appeared the man had rolled his excavator next to or on top of a hornet nest.

The driver has since been freed from the excavator, it is thought he was suffering a neck injury.
