Evolution Mining wins Miner of the Year award

Evolution Mining has been awarded the prestigious Miner of the Year award at the Mining 2015 Resources Convention for its ongoing successful operation of mines and record gold production.

The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) member company operates and owns seven gold operations in Australia, four of which are located around Queensland.

The award recognises Evolution’s strong financial position and also identifies a significant increase in share price aided by well-timed acquisitions that have reaped benefits for associated shareholders.

According to Chief Executive of the QRC, Michael Roche “These awards demonstrate the resilience and diversity of Queensland’s resources sector, as well as the high prospectivity of our state. They also remind us of the resource companies out there which contribute heavily to Queensland’s prosperity.”

Timing of the award comes prior to the release of the Queensland Exploration Council’s fifth annual Exploration Scorecard at the annual Queensland Exploration breakfast on Friday, 13th November.

The Exploration Breakfast will feature addresses by Rio Tinto’s Global Head of Exploration, Stephen McIntosh and Queensland’s Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Dr Anthony Lynham MP to an audience of over 300 guests at Brisbane’s Hilton Hotel.
