Downer wins long-term maintenance contract

Chevron has awarded Downer EDI a five-year contract to provide maintenance and support services at its Western Australian operations.

Downer’s scope of works will focus on the maintenance of non-process infrastructure assets at the Chevron-operated Gorgon and Wheatstone facilities, including support services provided by Spotless.

Grant Fenn, Downer chief executive officer, said the new contract built on the company’s industry knowledge and experience.

“Downer is a leader in the delivery of major maintenance and industrial services to customers in the Australian resources and energy sectors,” Fenn said.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this long-term contract and we look forward to providing a high level of safety and service, and creating jobs and opportunities for local businesses in the region.”

Downer has a long history working at Chevron’s sites in Western Australia. Most recently, Downer announced in February it had been awarded a contract with Chevron for the provision of sustaining capital works in the state.
