Downer wins Cobar underground mining contract

Downer has been awarded the $70 million contract for mining at Glencore's CSA mine.

The Letter of Intent provides for a two year contract, with an additional one year option.

It is slated to stated in July.

The scope of works include mechanised decline and lateral development mining and haulage, and the provision of ground support services such as shotcreting and cable bolting.

Downer CEO Grant Fenn described the win as an endorsement of the company's underground mining capabilities.

Pybar previously held the contract.
