Downer EDI has secured a $120 million contract to provide mining services at Cobar Management’s CSA underground copper mine in New South Wales.
The contract will initially span three years, with Glencore-owned Cobar Management having an option to extend the agreement by up to 24 months.
It follows the completion of a three-year mining services contract awarded to Downer in May 2015.
Downer’s scope of work at the CSA mine will include mechanised decline and lateral development mining and haulage, as well as ground support services including shotcrete and cable bolting.
Grant Fenn, Downer chief executive officer, said he was pleased to be continuing the company’s relationship with Cobar Management.
“Downer has a strong track record of providing mining services to Cobar Management and helping it to drive efficiencies across its operations,” Fenn said.
“We look forward to extending our working and continuing to deliver efficient solutions for the CSA mine.”
