Collie closer to mine rehab

The WA Department of Mines and Petroleum has moved a step ahead in its rehabilitation plans for the former Black Diamond coal mine near Collie.

The department is now looking to appoint an environmental and engineering specialist to assist with preliminary design – involving community consultation.

Once planning is complete earth works could begin by late 2012.
