Coal miner bought by recruitment firm

Recruitment and labour hire firm Humanis has acquired nearly half of coal miner Springsure Mining.

Springsure holds exploration tenements in the Bowen Basin, with Humanis planning to construct a training mine facility concurrent with the development of an underground thermal coal mine.

According to the recruitment firm, it “will provide practical and theoretical mining and OH&S training and experience.”

Exploration has already begun and initial boreholes have intersected coal thickness of 14.7 metres and 12.39 metres.

However, the company stated that exploration so far is inadequate to estimate JORC compliant resources, but based on early drilling, may contain anything between zero to 84 million toones of thermal coal.

Another three boreholes are planned for May/June this year.
