Paul Everingham will succeed Reg Howard-Smith, who has been serving as chief executive officer of The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA (CME) for 15 years.
Everingham was formerly chief executive of Perth marketing agency, Marketforce Australia, and founder and managing director of the independent advisory firm, GRA Everingham Advisory.
During his time at both firms, Everingham established a close affiliation with the Western Australian Government.
CME president Jeroe Buren acknowledged that Everingham’s respect of both sides of politics, solid business and political networks and communication and management skills would be an asset to CME.
“He has demonstrated that he has the necessary energy, enthusiasm and capacity to lead an advocacy organisation such as CME and I look forward to his contribution to the resources sector in the years ahead,” said Buren.
Everingham will commence his role from next week.
