Clough launches CSG division

Engineering firm Clough has announced the creation of a coal seam gas division.

Engineering firm Clough has announced the establishment of a coal seam gas (CSG) division for the Australian CSG sector.

The company’s “entry into the coal seam gas industry is a key strategic step in strengthening our position as an engineering contractor with a focus on the oil and gas sector,” Clough chief executive John Smith said.

Despite only being new incepted, Clough said key personnel had been working on coal seam gas projects in Queensland since 2003.

The CSG sector has seen explosive growth in the last few years, as companies such as Linc Energy, East Energy Resources and Cougar Energy have brought attention to the energy potential of the industry.
