Caterpillar has partnered with international automotive supplier Continental to equip its Cat off-highway trucks with new rigid dump truck (RDT) master tyres.
Continental will equip the trucks – model series 770 to 775 – with its RDT master tyres in sizes 18.00R33, 21.00R33 and 24.00R35.
The agreement will also see the two companies work together on designing new tyres for two other Caterpillar products – the medium wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks.
Continental’s key account manager for off-the-road tyres, Jan Skaletz said the company welcomed this collaboration, in addition to the launch of its new tyre lines in the mining and construction segment.
“This cooperation underlines the significance that Caterpillar places in innovative technology, the customised solution approach and leading edge technology that Continental now offers in this new industry segment,” he said.
Continental’s RDT master tyres feature all-steel radial casings and belt packages for cut and impact resistance that provide high traction in all directions.
