Cat delivers first former Bucyrus machine

Cat has delivered its first former Bucyrus machine

Six weeks after finalising its acquisition of Bucyrus, Caterpillar has shipped its first hydraulic mining shovel in Cat yellow from a former Bucyrus factory.

Earlier this month, a Cat 6030 was commissioned at Yara International’s phosphate mine in Finland for mining contractor E. Hartikainen Oy.

The 290 tonne shovel, former known as an RH120E, is also the first shovel of the line to go into operation in Finland.

While the original trade agreement in January this year would have seen it arrive Bucyrus branded, the contractor reportedly chose to have it delivered in Cat dress.

The Cat 6030, which is configured as backhoe, is part of a wider contract which included three 785D mining trucks, a 993K wheel loader, and a 16M motor grader.
