Cast lip for buckets

HITACHI Mining will unveil a new cast lip for buckets fitted to its class-leading 500-tonne EX5500-6 excavators on Stand 0310 at AIMEX 2007.

HITACHI Mining will unveil a new cast lip for buckets fitted to its class-leading 500-tonne EX5500-6 excavators on Stand 0310 at AIMEX 2007.

The new cast lip has been engineered to ensure the structural integrity of OEM buckets on big excavators will be maintained under all operating conditions.

Modelled on the standard 180mm plate lip, the new section combines the slim profile of the plate lip and the inherent strength of a one-piece casting.

Designed and manufactured in Australia, the new lip is said to reduce the incidence of metal fatigue and problems that could impact on large buckets and, ultimately, output and productivity.

The company will give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at workshop and on-site service programs, technical and product support and specialist remanufacturing services.
