Call to retain compliance system

AMMA research paper argues for retention of current compliance system

THE Australian Mines and Metals Association (AMMA) is calling for retention of the current compliance system.

According to the AMMA, any weakening of the current compliance regime would be an open invitation to unions to put at risk stable and harmonious workplaces and Australia’s economic prosperity.

The paper reviews how the current legislative framework governs unlawful industrial action, secondary boycotts and union right of entry, and argues that the system provides a fair and balanced compliance regime which is providing demonstrable benefits to the Australian economy.
