Brierity Limited has won a construction contract at Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine.
The contractor won the award to undertake construction of rail formation for six sidings on the Cloudbreak Mainline for the miner.
Valued at $39 million, the construction of rail formation includes bulk earthworks and drill and blast operations.
Work is scheduled to commence next month and to be completed by the end of the year.
Peter McBain, Brierty's managing director, said the contract represents the company's relationships with the miner and its ongoing work at Fortescue's T155 expansion project.
"Our experience and ability to perform on large civil infrastructure projects, such as the $60 million Solomon Rail Spur contract that is nearing completion, is being recognised by our clients," McBain said.
