Brierty awarded $15 million Atlas Iron project

Civil and mining contractor, Brierty Limited has received a notice of award to undertake its first contract for Atlas Iron Ore Limited.

The contract, valued at about $15 million, is for the construction of approximately 60km of access road for the Abydos Mine Project. This work includes bulk earthworks, drainage and pavement layers for the proposed Pilbara mine.

The work is scheduled to start in March this year and be finished by the end of June.

Brierty Managing Director said that the contract reflects the Company’s continued successful delivery of civil earthworks projects in the Pilbara.

“Our proven ability to deliver civil projects for our clients in the Pilbara has demonstrated the strong capability of our construction teams, which has helped underpin this new and important relationship with Atlas Iron Ore,” he said.

“We are excited about the opportunity to be part of the growth of Atlas Iron as it expands its production capacity and look forward to developing a longer-term relationship with such a key Pilbara iron ore producer that shares many of our values.”

The contract brings Brierty’s work on hand to $105 million for this financial year.
