Drill manufacturer Boart Longyear has appointed Richard O'Brien as its new CEO and Barbara Jeremiah as the chair of the board.
It comes nearly five months after the shock resignation of former CEO Craig Kipp in October last year.
The new CEO is former Newmont Mining CEO, who stepped down from the helm of the miner in December last year.
In a statement, Boart said O'Brien's appointment "followed a comprehensive international search".
'Brien said he is "honoured to be joining the Boart Longyear team and look building upon the company's heritage and innovative spirit".
The manufacturer will announce the terms of his employment once his role in Newmont officially ends in March.
Barbara Jeremiah has also been elected to chair of Boart's board.
Jeremiah has been a director since October 2011, and steps into the role vacated by former chair David McLemore, who will remain on the board.
