BASF has now reorganised its oilfields and mining businesses within the Performance Chemicals division.
“The Oilfield and Mining Solutions businesses operate in markets that are driven by differentiation to create sustainable industry solutions together with customers,” BASF said in a company statement.
“Success factors for suppliers to these industries are technology and innovation leadership as well as engineering and application expertise; “Oilfield & Mining Solutions” will operate as a global business unit.
“Dedicated industry teams will increase effectiveness and focus on developing and commercialising innovative and sustainable products to support the predominantly global customers in optimising their yields.”
The group will carry out the merging of the business units from the start of next year.
Paper and water will also be combined as a single unit under the auspices of the division.
Around 120 jobs worldwide are expected to be cut as part of the realigning process.
