Austmine keeps companies in the loop on coronavirus news

Austmine has collated government measures and advice to provide a reliable source of information concerning coronavirus to the mining industry.

This includes business and industry advice at each state government level, funding, relief and other financial information and government stimulus measures.

Austmine is also seeking companies’ feedback on how they have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak so information can be escalated to keep the industry strong.

“We will take this information to government and others who can help so we can all work together to overcome the current situation we are facing,” Austmine chief executive officer Christine Gibbs Stewart said.

As well as keeping the sector informed, Austmine has asked its members to help the Australian medical industry as it runs out of basic essential items.

“Australian frontline medical professionals are running out of basic disposable respiratory P2/N95 face masks,” Gibbs Stewart said.

“In desperation, doctors are making their own or reusing disposable masks.

“If you have disposable P2/N95 face masks and/or PAPR (powered air-purifying respirators) respirators with HEPA (high-efficiency particulate arrestance) filters that you don’t need at this time, please get in touch. Please indicate what you have, numbers available and location and we can help coordinate collection.”
