AusGroup subsidiary AGC Industries has won a contract to build a pilot plant at Rio Tinto’s Brockman 4 mine.
It will design, install, construct, and commission the low grade iron ore pilot plant, which is scheduled to being production in February 2012.
The construction of the iron ore pilot plant at Brockman 4 will allow Rio to tap into the low grades of ore on site.
According to AGC, it will also let the miner carry out large scale testing for future lower grade feed types while also providing information to enhance the ore out put.
"The Brockman site is of significant importance for Rio’s 333 million tonne per annum expansion target and for AGC, AusGroup CEO Stuart Kenny said.
